All India Industrial Gases Manufacturers' Association, now commonly known as AIIGMA, is the sole representative body of gases, gas cylinders, related equipment and safey manufacturers in India. The Association was formed in 1975 and its Membership includes almost all the units in the country engaged in the production of industrial gas and allied equipments. The present (as on March 2008) membership strength of the Association is 261 including 196 Ordinary Members, 49Associate Members, 15 Foreign Members and 1 Honorary Member.



The regular activities of the Association include close interaction with the Ministry of Industry, Department of Explosives, Bureau of Indian Standards, Central Pollution Control Board, Central Board of Excise & Customs etc.

The Association is affiliated to Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), FICCI & ASSOCHAM - the National Industry Associations and also to Compressed Gas Associations of U.S.A. AIIGMA is represented in the Standardisation Committees of Bureau of Indian Standards for standardization of gases and gas cylinders. AIIGMA is also responsible for the working of the Development Panel for Industrial Gases constituted by the Ministry of Industry, Govt. of India.

The Association is specifically interested to collect & disseminate information on technological development, industrial policy, safety regulations, taxation and duty etc. related to industrial gases business.

All these activities and objectives are accomplished through organization of workshops, seminars, and meetings from time to time and through various publications particularly the regular bi-monthly magazine of "GAS NEWS". This bi-monthly (once in two-months) publication is also supported by a single sheet monthly supplement of `GAS NEWS'. The Association also conducted delegation visits of Indian gas manufacturers to Europe, USA, Far East & China. These official delegations encouraged to develop one-to-one business relation between gas manufacturers in India and the gas and allied equipment manufacturers in abroad.





The organization of National Seminar on Industrial Gases annually has become one of the most important features of the Association's activities and now the dates of the Seminar considered important amongst the entire gas industry all over the world. The Seminar has proved as the milestone for inspiring growth of this industry in the entire Asia Pacific Region and delegates from all these countries consider it very important for participation and take part in the deliberation.
